HAMBURGER & MUSHROOM GRAVY
the speedy way

1 pound 96% lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
8 ounce package fresh mushrooms, sliced small
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can evaporated milk 
salt and pepper, to taste

​Brown beef, onions and mushrooms; drain if necessary. In a separate bowl whisk together soup and
milk until smooth and add to pan. Cook over medium heat until bubbly and hot throughout.  Serve over
​creamed potatoes or rice. Makes 6 servings.

the original way

1 pound 96% lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
8 ounce package fresh mushrooms, sliced small
1/4 cup flour
2 cups skim milk 
salt and pepper, to taste

Brown beef, onions and mushrooms; drain.  Sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper; cook and stir a few minutes
to blend flour in well.  Slowly add milk, stirring as you pour.  Cook over medium heat until thickened.  Serve
over creamed potatoes or rice. Makes 6 servings

Either way you fix it it's one of my husbands very favorite meals.
