2 cups self rising flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a large bowl whisk together dry ingredients until well combined. Add all the wet ingredients
and whisk until smooth and combined. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake at
350 for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in the
pan and then pour on icing.

2/3 cup cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
In a medium size pot melt butter. Remove from heat and whisk in cocoa powder until completely
dissolved and smooth. Add powdered sugar and milk alternately, whisking until smooth each time.
Whisk in vanilla. Pour over cooled chocolate cake. Will set up as it sits.
