TACO SEASONING
Recipe is for 1 pound of ground meat:
1 tablespoon each: flour, cornstarch, dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon each: beef bouillon powder, garlic salt, cumin, paprika, chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup water
Mix dry ingredients and use in place of one packet of store bought seasoning mix. To make taco meat add with the water to one pound of cooked and drained ground meat. Cook until thickened.
If using just as a seasoning for soups, stews, etc leave out the flour and cornstarch. They are used only for thickening the taco meat.
As far as points go I do not count points for seasonings or seasoning packets/mixes of any kind. There are 2 points in the flour and cornstarch if you want to count those.
You may mix several packages of this seasoning to keep on hand and just add the water as you cook it. Click here to see how I like to pre-package my homemade seasoning mixes.
