ITALIAN MACARONI SOUP
1 pound 93% lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
3 teaspoons minced garlic
2 32-oz cartons beef broth
2 28-oz cans diced tomatoes
½ cup ketchup
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 cups dry macaroni
Brown hamburger, onion and garlic in a large pot. Add tomatoes, broth and ketchup. Stir well then add in remaining ingredients except for macaroni. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Bring back to a boil and add macaroni. Cook 15 - 25 minutes, uncovered, or until macaroni is done to your liking.
Makes 8 servings of 17 ounces each. All plans are 6 points. Purple points will be reduced if using whole wheat pasta.
My recipe made 137.30 ounces so if you wanted to you could make it that many servings in the recipe builder and then just weigh out how many ounces you want instead of having a set amount of 17 ounces/serving. If doing it this way be sure to weigh your pot of soup because it may be different than mine.
