DAMSON PLUM BBQ SAUCE
12 - 15 ounce jar damson plum jam*
ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon each: beef bouillon
onion powder
garlic powder
my steak spice
chili powder
paprika
dry mustard
splash of vinegar, if needed
In a medium sauce pan heat the jam/jelly until melted and smooth, whisking frequently. Using the jam jar
add almost the same amount of ketchup as there was jam. Add this to the pan. Whisk until smooth. Add
the remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth. Simmer 5 minutes. Taste and if you think it needs a little
tang as just a very small splash of vinegar. If not just leave it out.
*You many substitute any jam or jelly you'd like. I've had the most luck with black or red currant, or blackberry.
If using blackberry get the seedless kind.
