CRUSTLESS STEAK POT PIE
1 pound lean steak bites*
2 tablespoons butter, optional - can use any oil or spray you like
House Seasoning or salt and pepper
12 - 16 ounces frozen vegetables for stew**
1 can beef broth
1 jar beef gravy - 12 ounces
thyme
Melt the butter in a medium to large skillet and the beef bites. Season with House Seasoning
and saute until browned. Remove from pan and set aside. In a medium pot bring the can of
beef broth to a boil and add the frozen vegetables. Bring back to the boil and cook 20 - 30
minutes or until vegetables are tender. Drain vegetables and return to pot. Add beef
(drained with a slotted spoon if necessary), thyme to taste and gravy. Pour into a sprayed 11x7 inch
baking dish. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes or until heated through.
Makes4 1-cup servings.
*If you can't find lean beef bites you can use any lean cut of beef you choose. Cut it into small
bite sized pieces. You may also use hamburger, but be sure to cook it completely before adding
to the remaining ingredients.
**I used the Pictsweet brand vegetables that included potatoes, carrots, onions and celery. If you
aren't able to find this blend you can use regular mixed vegetables instead. Just adjust your cooking
time.
