CROCKPOT TURKEY CHILI
1 pound ground turkey, 97% or above
chopped onions, to taste
House Seasoning, to taste
2 cans diced tomatoes, I like petite
3 tablespoon tomato past
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1.4 cup cocoa powder
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon dried oregano
salt to taste
3 cups chicken broth
2 cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
instant potato flakes, if desired
Cook turkey and onions in a medium skillet, season with House Seasoning or salt and
pepper and cook until crumbled and done. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste and
red wine vinegar. Stir to combine. Add the cocoa powder, chili powder,
cumin, oregano and salt. Stir until well combined. Add to sprayed or lined crockpot. Add
the chicken broth and beans; stir to combine. Cover and cook 6 - 8 hours on low. If you want
to thicken chili and this point stir in potato flakes a spoonful at a time until thickened to your
liking. Serve with crunchy tortilla chips for scooping.
