CROCKPOT REFRIED BEANS
1/2 pound pinto beans
1 small chopped onion
1 can diced green chiles
2 - 3 cloves minced garlic
pinch of cumin, to taste
salt and pepper
3 cups water
Add all ingredients to crockpot and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Remove with a slotted spoon to a large bowl.
Try to keep as much liquid out of them as possible. Mash with a potato masher or other utensil until you get the
desired texture. Save the cooking liquid because as they set up they may get too thick or dry. They will most always
need to be salted after cooking so taste to adjust seasonings. Use anywhere you would use canned refried beans.
