MOMA'S PEANUT BUTTER CANDY
1/3 cup very soft butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
milk
peanut butter
Place softened butter in mixing bowl and beat until starting to fluff a little. Add the powdered sugar
and vanilla and beat until well combined. It will still be dry looking.
Add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until you get the consistency of playdough. Don't add
more milk until you have thoroughly beaten to make sure it is going to come together or not. I usually
only need 2 tablespoons of milk. If you add too much milk it will be too sticky to roll. To make place
dough onto a sheet of waxed and knead to make a nice ball. Form into a rectangle shape to begin
with. Pick up dough and spread a little powdered sugar over bottom waxed paper just to make sure it
will roll without sticking. Place another piece of waxed paper on top and with a rolling pin roll into
a large rectangle. Spread evenly with peanut butter and then using the waxed paper to help you start
rolling up from the long side. Roll all the way up then wrap in waxed paper and twist the ends. Place
in refrigerator a couple or more hours until it hardens. Cut into slices and serve. To keep from eating
way too much I store them in the freezer between sheets of waxed paper. They are delicious this way
as well.
